• 6 Natural Face Masks


    You may know that the food you eat has an impact on how good your skin looks, but did you also know that putting certain foods onto your skin can help you maintain a great complexion? While we’re not saying you should throw out all of your expensive moisturizers, you could actually replace some of them with some well known foods. Let’s have a look at which foods you may want to consider smearing over your face on a regular basis.



    Forget about moisturizers and botox, but instead use a banana to make the skin on your face look younger and healthier. Just mash up a banana until you get a smooth paste and then put it onto your face. Just let it settle in for about 20 minutes and then rinse or eat (just kidding) it off. You can also mix the banana with some yogurt and honey for an alternative, revitalizing face mask.



    Not just a great high protein breakfast food, eggs are also great for your skin. For dry skin problems just use a beaten egg yolk and apply it to your face, letting it set for about 30 minutes. For oily skin, use just the egg white, mixed with either honey or lemon. If you have normal skin, use the entire egg.



    Vinegar has been used to improve skin health for hundreds of years. Use a mixture of 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar and 2 cups of water to rinse your face. This works great to clean and tighten your skin. You can also use a 50/50 mix of cider vinegar and water (half a cup in total should be enough) for a facial treatment. Just apply it to your skin and let it dry.


    Lemon and Oil

    For a natural exfoliation and moisturizing treatment, combine the juice of a lemon with a quarter cup of either almond oil or olive oil. Apply to your face and rinse it off after about 20-30 minutes.



    Oatmeal isn’t just a great breakfast food, but can also be used to make your skin look great. There are actually a number of facial products on the market that have oatmeal as an active ingredient. You don’t need to buy these products though since you can actually make your own oatmeal facial product in about 10 minutes. Just mix half a cup of hot water with 1/3 a cup of oatmeal and when it’s settled after a few minutes, add 2 tablespoons of yogurt, 2 tablespoons of raw honey and an egg white. Mix well into a paste and then apply it to your face. After letting it set for about 15 minutes, rinse off with lukewarm water.



    You may have noticed that yogurt is a common ingredient in our homemade natural facial masks. This is because yogurt is great for cleaning and tightening your skin. You can use it just on its own, putting a layer onto your face and then rinsing it off after 20 minutes.
